Review: Crave (Book 2, Fallen Angels Series) by JR Ward (Spoilers)

Crave (Book 2 in the Fallen Angels Series) by JR Ward
Book Description: Seven deadly sins. Seven souls that must be saved. One more no-holds- barred battle between a fallen angel with a hardened heart and a demon with everything to lose.

Isaac Rothe is a black ops soldier with a dark past and a grim future. The target of an assassin, he finds himself behind bars, his fate in the hands of his gorgeous public defender Grier Childe. His hot attraction to her can only lead to trouble-and that's before Jim Heron tells him his soul is in danger. Caught up in a wicked game with the demon who shadows Jim, Isaac must decide whether the soldier in him can believe that true love is the ultimate weapon against evil.

About the Author: J.R. Ward is the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series of vampire books. She is a winner of the prestigious Romance Writers of America RITA award for Best Paranormal Romance and is a multiple RITA nominee. A graduate of Smith College, she was a double major in History and Art History with a medieval concentration in both and she still longs at times for a return to those days sitting in dark lecture halls, looking at slides of old triptychs and reliquaries. Prior to becoming a full time writer, she was a corporate attorney, serving for many years as the Chief of Staff of one of Harvard Medical Schools premier teaching sites. Her idea of absolute heaven is a day filled with nothing but her computer, her dog and her coffee pot and the Brothers, of course.

Warning SPOILERS Below!! If you haven't read the first book in the series you may discover items about that book in my review!!

Here's what I Think: It is no secret that JR Ward is one of my very favorite authors. It started with the Black Dagger Brotherhood and continued with the Fallen Angels Series. The concept of this series is huge and so I think Ward has some huge combats to fill, but she doesn't not disappoint. Coming off his win in the first book, Jim is just a little bit cocky, which he pays for eventually. I absolutely love the characters of Isaac and Grier. They are a vastly unlikely match, but Ward is amazing at writing these sorts of relationships. With so many threads going at once it is easy for a story to become scattered but Ward does a great job of tying everything together. I was a little upset but ultimately pleased with the realistic ending of this volume of the Fallen Angels Series. I absolutely can't wait for the next in the series. And as a bonus, this book has a excerpt from the next Black Dagger Brotherhood book: Lover Unleashed which features Payne and Manny! Going to be juicy!
