Whatcha Reading Wednesday - 2/24/2010

So this is how "Whatcha Reading Wednesdays" works
You grab the book you are currently reading, open it to a TOTALLY RANDOM page and then go to a random place on the page and select two full sentences. Then leave a comment with just the two sentences, the page number, title and author of the book. If it is a spoiler at all be sure to put **Spoiler Alert** at the top of your comment (like if the selection announces the death of an integral character or something). But I really doubt that two sentences on a random page are going to give away the plot - =). This is supposed to fun and enlightening and I really hope you guys do this!

Here's Mine for this week:
Recalling her weary gaze, he felt a stab of sympathy for Lady Sheffield, one made all the sharper by his won devious strategy. It seemed he was not the only person who wanted something from the widow. page 58, To Sin with a Scoundrel by Cara Elliott

  1. Um, okay so I'm sort of cheating here because I am supposed to be finishing my school paper so I haven't technically started reading this book yet. Here are the first two sentences in the new Kim Harrison book "Black Magic Sanction."

"Tucking my hair back, I squinted at the parchment, trying to form the strange angular letters as smoothly as I could. The ink glistened wetly, but it wasn't red ink, it was blood--my blood--which might account for the slight tremble as I copied the awkward looking name scripted in characters that weren't English."

Now. I. will. try. to. unglue. book. from. my. hands. Need. to. finish. school. work.

This isn't going to be easy!

  4. I am reading "Falling For Rachel" by Nora Roberts. It is a fun and heartwarming romance novel. I like to read romances before bed....they stop me from thinking too much before falling asleep! Here is the quote:

"You're not going to get me tangled up in an argument." She was too good at winning those, and he'd be d***ed if he was going to lose this time.

Sorry I happened to pick a sentence with a slightly naughty word!

I love this idea! Feel free to visit my blog which focuses on childrens books and deals: http://childrensnook.blogspot.com
